It wasn't long after I was snuggled in bed that Zachary came home and insisted that I not go to sleep yet. As anyone that knows me very well I am very good at ruining surprises and well I ruined his first engagement idea of proposing beside the bed. Instead he resort to his last option, but first let me give you some background of his ways. Zachary is one that can't hide secrets from me very well and the fact that he had my ring and didn't know where to hide it about killed him so he impromptu decided to go ahead and propose.
So he laid down in bed with me like usual, but kept on insisting that I hold his hand in which case I do every night. When I went to grab his hand like normal the ring was in his hand. Me being me I jumped out of bed had to turn on the light and when I did he had the box open and asked me to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said yes and that was it I wasn't going back to sleep. I had to call everyone under the sun whether they answered or not to tell them that I was getting married to the love of my life!
Many people may think his proposal was very boring and not real exciting, but if anyone knows Zachary they knew he doesn't care what other people think and it was perfect in his own way.
Today marks 2 weeks that we have been engaged and the wedding planning is already out of control. The only things I have locked down for sure is the wedding date, wedding colors, wedding photographer and where the wedding will be held. My struggles are finding the right place for our reception.
I know it's okay not to have everything completely organized the first time you start planning. I am very thankful I have crazy out of control friends like Cortney Brandt and Alicia Keller to keep me grounded and on track.
As Zachary and I both are very consume with our jobs during this busy time of year. I hope we don't let too much time get away from us on this wonderful crazy wedding planning.
Until next time we meet again,
Shelby Lynn
